Starting Pitchers

NYY: Jonathan Loaisiga – R (2-1, 4.25 ERA/1.42 WHIP)

TB: Charlie Morton – R (15-6, 3.15 ERA/1.10 WHIP)

Wednesday’s MLB slate of games has some solid matchups which make for several betting opportunities. One of our favorite plays though is for the New York Yankees to defeat the Tampa Bay Rays. Let’s dive into the facts and figures below, to learn why this is our top betting tip.

Betting Lines Analysis: Yankees at Rays

The Yankees are getting plenty of love today, with 58 percent of public bets/82 percent of money wagered for them to win outright. In addition, the total hasn’t moved at all, even with 57 percent of public bets coming in on the under/69 percent of money wagered is on the over.

Yankees Betting Form

The Yanks will go with another bullpen game in this series, which most would think is a mismatch against tonight’s talented starter for the Rays. However, we shouldn’t think of New York’s bullpen like that because they are one of the best in baseball. Not to mention, we’re also talking about one of the most talented lineups in the game.

While tonight’s game is a little more important for the Rays, the Yankees would still love to clinch home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. They sit 1.5 games behind the Astros for that honor, so look for them to come back strong after dropping last night’s contest.

Rays Betting Form

Charlie Morton will look to keep the Rays in that second AL Wild Card spot with a big performance, and maybe even move into the top spot as they sit a half-game behind the Oakland A’s. It won’t be easy for Morton, though, as he’s allowed a 5.00 ERA in nine career starts against the Yanks. Don’t expect New York to be sitting many of its stars, as there’s plenty of motivation for this team to do well.

Betting Pick: Yankees +135

The Yankees are 13-6 against the Rays this season and one more win before these teams go their separate ways would be ideal. Look for New York’s bats to be the difference in this one, getting to Morton early and often.

You can find the best betting odds on the Yankees at PointsBet, where they are only listed as +135 underdogs.

Cleveland Indians (ML: -320) at Chicago White Sox – O/U: 9.5

Betting Pick: Indians (1.5 run line) -194

Sugarhouse Online Sportsbook Offer: Up to $250 free bet

Time: Wednesday, September 25th, 2019 – 8:10 p.m. EST

Wednesday’s MLB slate of games has a few important matchups with AL Wild-Card implications and that makes for several betting opportunities, but one of our favorite plays is for the Cleveland Indians to crush the Chicago White Sox. Let’s dive into the facts and figures below, to learn why this is our top betting tip.

Starting Pitchers

CLE: Shane Bieber – R (15-7, 3.23 ERA/1.03 WHIP)

CHW: Ross Detwiler – L (2-5, 6.98 ERA/1.72 WHIP)

Betting Lines Analysis: Indians at White Sox

There are plenty of backers for the Indians on the spread tonight, as 91 percent of public bets/99 of money wagered is heading in that direction. In addition, the 9.5 total hasn’t changed, with 61 percent of public bets on the over/54 percent of money wagered is on the under.

Indians Betting Form

The Indians are currently sitting on the outside looking in, with a half-game deficit in the AL Wild Card race and a four-game deficit in the AL Central. Luckily, they’ll be facing a White Sox team that has folded up their tent and heading home for the season. Making tonight even more of an optimistic outlook for the Tribe is the fact that they’ll be facing a left-handed pitcher that has been getting clubbed. Cleveland’s offense has been outstanding against lefties this season, so look for that to continue.

Shane Bieber has been great against the White Sox, posting a 2.78 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in five career starts. The All-Star Game MVP has also been fairly effective this month, with a 3.00 ERA and 1.19 WHIP over 27 innings of work.

White Sox Betting Form

With the odds at an astronomical level, they’re telling us that the White Sox have no chance in this game. Ross Detwiler only faced the Indians once this season, allowing a whopping four hits, six walks, and four runs in the process. Over the month of September, Detwiler owns a massive 10.57 ERA and 2.74 WHIP.

Betting Tip: Indians (1.5-run line: -194)

The Indians have really been capitalizing on easy matchups, going 31-7 against teams with a losing record. Look for that trend to continue tonight, with Cleveland’s offense already doing well against left-handed pitching and one of its aces on the mound.

These odds on the Indians will be high everywhere, but you can capitalize on the -194 on the 1.5-run line at SugarHouse Casino.

Oakland Athletics (ML: -200) at Los Angeles Angels – O/U: 8.5

Betting Pick: A’s 1.5-run line (-144)

Time: Wednesday, September 25th, 2019 – 10:10 p.m. EST

Starting Pitchers

OAK: Frankie Montas – R (9-2, 2.70 ERA/1.12 WHIP)

LAA: Andrew Heaney – L (4-6, 5.10 ERA/1.28 WHIP)

Wednesday’s MLB slate of games closes out with another matchup that has AL Wild-Card implications which makes for several betting opportunities. We really like the total going over in the Oakland Athletics at Los Angeles Angels game. Let’s dive into the facts and figures below, to learn why this is our top betting tip.

Betting Lines Analysis: Athletics at Angels

The A’s are getting plenty of love from bettors. Currently, 83 percent of public bets/91 percent of money wagered coming in on that side. In addition, the total has gone down from 9.0 to 8.5, with 72 percent of public bets coming in on the over/88 percent of money wagered on the under.

Athletics Betting Form

Frankie Montas returns from his 80-game suspension to try and help the A’s lock down a postseason berth. Prior to that suspension, he was cruising with a 9-2 record and 2.70 ERA in 15 starts – if you think the PEDs helped, that’s fair. It’s also worth noting that Montas won’t be eligible for the postseason roster under MLB rules. Look for the A’s to extend him as much as they possibly can.

While it’s a big boost for the A’s, who have a half-game lead over the Rays for the top spot in the AL Wild Card race. You have to imagine there will be some amount of rust Montas will have after being out for so long.

Angels Betting Form

Andrew Heaney has been getting touched up all month of September. He’s going 1-3 with a 9.31 ERA in four starts while allowing 28 hits (7 HR), 20 runs and a .341 opposing batting average over a span 19 1/3 innings.

The A’s would certainly love to atone for last night’s performance, and Heaney gives them a great chance to do so. Oakland has been one of the best offensive teams against left-handed pitching this season.

Betting Pick: Over 8.5 (-110)

We’ve got two starting pitchers that should give us plenty of hesitation tonight. Because of that, the game should get off to a nice start for bettors of the over with runs going on the board early.

Many sportsbooks have the same 8.5 total now, but first-time bettors at BetMGM can get a great promo deal offering a $100 matched deposit upon signing up there!
