This week, there are two episodes of Monday Night Football for us to make our NFL picks from. However, in this article, we’ll focus on the matchup featuring the Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears. There’s a lot riding on this game as the Vikings are looking to grab that final spot in the NFC Playoffs.
Here, I will provide the top Monday Night Football picks, odds, and lines for the Vikings at Bears matchup tonight.
Monday Night Football Picks – Vikings at Bears
|Points Spread||-6.5 (-110)||+6.5 (-110)|
|Total||O45.5 (-110)||U45.5 (-110)|
Vikings -6.5 (-110)
This line opened all the down at -3.5 for the Vikings earlier in the week, and now we’re seeing them as high as -6.5 at most sportsbooks. We have clearly lost the value on Minnesota’s number but I still believe there is plenty of reasoning in rolling with the purple rain in this one. The combo of Kirk Cousins, Dalvin Cook, and Justin Jefferson will be too much for Chicago.
For one, the Bears are basically playing out the string right now as they are certainly not making the playoffs. Rookie QB Justin Fields is starting to show signs of maturity with each and every NFL start that he makes. I think he’ll have a fine night but the inflated spread here gives me optimism for something which I’ll speak about next. However, the Vikings are hanging on by a thread to their playoff hopes, and a win would go a long way in making it to the second season. I believe that motivation will be the determining factor in the win.
Over 45 points (-110)
I did mention the trio of Cousins, Cook and Jefferson earlier – and they are damn good. In fact, they’ll be the ones leading the total going upwards of 45 points. Of course, it will be cold at Soldier Field tonight, but the winds aren’t expected to play a major factor and there is no threat of rain or snow either.
Believe it or not, the last two Bears games have been high scoring with totals of 55 and 75. The return of David Montgomery has provided a spark to Fields’ development as well. Montgomery has even been adding more catches out of the backfield, which is something that hasn’t always happened. Don’t sleep on the absence of Allen Robison either; that’s something that Fields apparently likes.
Justin Jefferson – Over 96.5 Points (-110)
Jefferson should get a full billing of targets tonight with the status of fellow WR Adam Thielen up in the air. There have been reports of every possible outcome, including Thielen not playing and then he is. As of now, he is listed as questionable, with the ultimate outcome likely being a game-time decision before kickoff.
Last week, with Thielen out, Jefferson had a big night of seven catches on 14 targets for 79 yards and a touchdown. In the game before that, where Thielen got hurt, Jefferson had 11 catches on 14 targets for 182 yards and a touchdown.
