The AFC South got a jolt of energy for the future, as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Of course, the division will ultimately come down to the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans once again. In the background, the Houston Texans will be trying to find themselves as a franchise and find a way to compete this season.

In this article, I will evaluate each team in the AFC South and predict a winner out of the bunch. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the AFC South odds and make sense of this competitive division.

Tennessee Titans Odds to Win AFC South (-120)

The Titans got a huge addition to their WR corps in Julio Jones. Together, he and AJ Brown will form one of the most formidable duos in the league for QB Ryan Tannehill. If you’re playing fantasy football, consider Tannehill as your QB in the later rounds of the draft. Of course, make sure you don’t forget about RB Derrick Henry, who is only the NFL’s baddest man with the football in his hands. It always helps to have a 6’3, 247-pound solid individual running the rock for your team.

Indianapolis Colts Odds to Win AFC South (+145)

The Colts got a huge scare early in the preseason with newly signed QB Carson Wentz from the NFC East and All-Pro OT Quentin Nelson both undergoing foot injuries. Remarkably, there is hope that both will be available by the season opener on Sept. 12. Many would argue that Indianapolis has one of the best all-around rosters in the NFL. If they can all stay on the field at the same time, we could see the Colts make a huge leap forward.

It’s incredibly tough to trust the Colts at the onset of the season. Perhaps, the best time to bet on Indy will be during the season. If Wentz and Nelson do wind up missing a few games, the price is going to get better anyways. The Colts are well-coached, and their schedule does get significantly easier down the stretch.

Jacksonville Jaguars Odds To Win AFC South (+800)

I may not be the best person to trust here, considering I took the Jaguars in this same article last season. In my defense, there were minimal odds on all three teams without the certainty of any team winning the division. However, I can clearly say there is no interest here.

Despite getting QB Trevor Lawrence with the No. 1 overall pick, Jacksonville will have a first-year head coach along in tow. After mastering things at the collegiate level, Urban Meyer will now try his hand at the pro game. Meyer does have a long track record of success at every step along his journey, and it may come at some point. I just don’t see it happening in his first season, especially with a rookie QB.

Houston Texans Odds to Win AFC South (+2800)

The Texans are certainly in for a rough one this season, as their roster is abysmal. QB Deshaun Watson has a lingering sexual assault case that could play well into the season. As bad as the outlook on that case is, there’s just not a good supporting cast around Watson.

Even at +2800 odds, there is no chance in hell that I’d take the Texans. If there is a breath of fresh air, it’s that Bill O’Brien is no longer in Houston. Instead, the Texans are now rolling with David Culley. If you’ve never heard of him, good… that makes two of us.

Expert Pick To Win The AFC South 2021

Titans (-120)

It’s probably a good thing that Tennessee didn’t change a ton this offseason. In fact, the theoretical WR swap of Corey Davis for Julio Jones turned out well for the Titans. The Colts are capable of making more than enough noise in this division, especially with the Jags and Texans not expected to contend. The Titans have all the key pieces, so staying healthy is of the utmost importance.
