The NFL season is within an arm’s reach of kicking off, with the Houston Texans visiting the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday, September 10, 2020.
While we’re all excited for that first game, it’s never too early to start making NFL futures bets that can turn us a nice profit down the road in December. In this article, we’ll take a look at teams with the best value to take down their respective divisions.
All odds are according to DraftKings Sportsbook.
Best Bets to Win NFC Division Titles
Dallas Cowboys (-110)
Philadelphia Eagles (+140)
New York Giants (+1000)
Washington Football Team (+1300)
Most Likely to Win NFC East: Dallas Cowboys (-110)
2020 has certainly been a crazy year, so it would make perfect sense to see the Cowboys win the division – and maybe even go further than that. Dallas does welcome new head coach Mike McCarthy to town and that’ll be a welcome sight for an offense that just added yet another weapon in WR CeeDee Lamb via the draft. Of course, the trio of QB Dak Prescott, RB Ezekiel Elliott and WR Amari Cooper are as good as any in the NFL. WR Michael Gallup is also someone we should keep an eye on this season.
Best Value to Win NFC East: New York Giants (+1000)
This is actually my favorite longshot bet on the entire board. First-time head coach Joe Judge is looking to bring some of that New England magic to the Meadowlands, and the hope is that these shortage of in-person meetings practice won’t ruin what could be a very surprising year. People around the team are gushing over Judge’s energy and the turnaround can come a lot sooner than people think. QB Daniel Jones showed flashes of greatness last season but the turnovers will need to be kept to a minimum. RB Saquon Barkley, WR Sterling Shepard and TE Evan Engram will all look to recover from injuries that ravaged their 2019 seasons. Engram, apparently, has been absolutely unstoppable in practice, so he’ll be a name to watch out for late in fantasy drafts this season.
Minnesota Vikings (+160)
Green Bay Packers (+180)
Chicago Bears (+380)
Detroit Lions (+550)
Most Likely to Win NFC North: Minnesota Vikings (+160)
It is quite noticeable to see the Packers, who were 13-3 last season, not listed as the favorite to repeat as division winners. This could mean one of a few things, but the large elephant in the room will probably be a distraction all season; the large elephant being that Green Bay used its first-round selection on a QB and left Rodgers without any weapons for the foreseeable future. The Vikings will certainly lose some of their home-field luster without the fans, but this is a well-rounded football team that was one win away from the NFC Championship Game last season.
Best Value to Win NFC North: Chicago Bears (+550)
The Bears are two years removed from a 12-4 season that saw them lose on a heartbreaking missed field goal in the Divisional Round to the Eagles. When you look at it that way, it’s not so hard to imagine them pulling the upset and winning the division. QB Nick Foles was brought in to compete with fellow QB Mitchell Trubisky and finally get this team over the top. It’ll all fall on the defense, though, led by a serious LB core of Khalil Mack, Roquan Smith and Danny Trevathan.

Most Likely to Win NFC South: New Orleans Saints (-130)
This will be the last kick at the can for QB Drew Brees, and wouldn’t it be just poetic to have him go out on top? After all, his 2020 season got off to a chaotic start after he was scrutinized for showing his support for the US flag. All seems to be well now and if anything, it may have even brought them closer together. This is a team that has mostly stayed intact over the years, so that – along with head coach Sean Payton – should have them in a familiar spot to win this division. Tampa Bay has all of this new fire power, but you have to wonder if they can put it all together for enough wins to take the division, considering they didn’t have a lot of time together this offseason.
Best Value to Win NFC South: Carolina Panthers (+2200)
I don’t actually love the Panthers to win the NFC South, yet there is plenty of value here at the number. Granted, head coach Matt Rhule and QB Teddy Bridgewater will be working together for the first time, but there is so much talent on the offensive side of the ball with RB Christian McCaffrey, WRs DJ Moore, Robbie Anderson and WR Curtis Samuel. We all know how crazy this division is year after year, so why not the Panthers? After all, they do have some very winnable games on the schedule.
San Francisco 49ers (-106)
Seattle Seahawks (+220)
Los Angeles Rams (+550)
Arizona Cardinals (+700)
Most Likely to Win NFC West: Seattle Seahawks (+220)
I don’t mind taking that narrative of the Super-Bowl losing team falling on their face the next season. Well, it also helps that we can take a strong team like the Seahawks in their place. In fact, the Seahawks were about a yard shy of winning the NFC West in 2019 and possibly getting more home-field advantage. The Seahawks will always have a fantastic signal-caller in QB Russell Wilson and now they’ve added S Jamal Adams on the defensive side of the ball.
Best Value to Win NFC West: Los Angeles Rams (+550)
We’re all getting a good dose of head coach Sean McVay and the Rams on HBO’s Hard Knocks, and all looks well in LA – but doesn’t it always look like that on the show? Nevertheless, I have faith in McVay as a coach to return to his old self after a year off great success. They were the runner-up in the previous year’s Super Bowl, and just as we mentioned for San Fran, that’s not a good thing – meaning one less team to topple them. QB Jared Goff still does have plenty of guys to get the ball to, including a very talented WR trio of Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp and Josh Reynolds. TE Tyler Higbee is also expected to have a nice season.
